X, formerly known as Twitter, experienced widespread outages early Monday, with thousands of users reporting issues accessing the platform. According to outage-tracking website Downdetector, reports of disruptions began surfacing around 5:30 a.m. ET.
At the peak of the outage, 57% of users reported issues with the mobile app, while 32% encountered problems with the website. While the service briefly appeared to be back on track, reports of disruptions spiked again, indicating ongoing instability.
Outages decreased again closer to 11 a.m. with service returning for many users.
X has yet to acknowledge the outage or provide details on the cause of the disruption. Users took to other social media platforms to express their frustration
