Pistons Make Cade Cunningham Announcement After Win Over Wizards

Detroit Pistons guard Cade Cunningham is in the midst of a breakout year in his fourth NBA season.

Through 60 games with the Pistons so far this season, Cunningham is averaging 25.6 points, 9.3 assists and 6.1 rebounds per game on 46.3% shooting from the field.

Not only are his personal statistics excellent, the first-time All-Star has also led his Detroit team to the No. 6 seed in the Eastern Conference heading into the final stretch of the 2024-25 NBA season.

Cunningham led the Pistons to their 37th win on Tuesday night, taking down the Washington Wizards with a 123-103 victory in Detroit.

Cunningham finished the contest with a game-high 27 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds, shooting 11-23 from the field in 32 minutes of action.

After the win, the Pistons announced Cunningham as their Player of the Game.

“HIM,” the team wrote on X.

Cunningham entered the league as the Pistons’ No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NBA draft. Since then, his production has steadily improved and he’s developed into one of the league’s best guards.

Cunningham wasn’t alone in Tuesday night’s winning effort as six Pistons finished with double digits in the scoring column. Jalen Duren recorded a massive double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds.

The Pistons will look to keep their current two-game win streak alive when they face off against the Wizards in a rematch on Thursday night.
