AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) – Area agencies are working several grass fires throughout the Panhandle due to high winds.
Gray County
The wildfire in Gray County is now estimated at 4,500 acres and is 30% contained.
Officials say that forward progression has been stopped on this fire. Crews have built containment lines around the perimeter of the fire.
The Forest Service has confirmed that one abandoned structure has been lost.
The fire is near Alanreed. Officials issued evacuations for residents of Alanreed and McLean but as of 5:30 p.m., those evacuations have been lifted.

I-40 in the area was closed and has since reopened.
Roberts/Ochiltree Counties
The wildfire that started in Roberts County and spread to Ochiltree County now spans 21,000 acres and is 50% contained.
Officials say one home was lost in the fire.
The fire is heading towards the Ochiltree/Lipscomb County line.
Officials say forward progression of this fire has stopped and the rainfall helped limit fire activity.
Crews are continuing to build containment lines along the flanks of the fire and are patrolling the fire area checking for heat.

The Lipscomb County Sheriff’s Office said Locust Grove and citizens south of Booker should evacuate to Booker. As of 5:30 p.m., Locust Grove residents were released to return to their homes.
The Booker Community Center is open for evacuees. Those evacuating can also go to Kiowa Country north of the nursing home on Pioneer Street in Booker.
Officials say the fire has jumped Highway 281. Due to a forecasted wind shift, Canadian residents should be prepared to evacuate, as well as residents north of Canadian and in Glazier.
The fire started off Highway 70 near North River Road.
Highway 70 and 281 were closed due to the fire, but have been reopened.
Officials have also closed Highway 83 north out of Canadian due to no visibility. It has since reopened.
Both directions of I-40 at Alanreed were also closed due to the fire.

Texas County, Oklahoma
Crews responded to a grass fire in Texas County today.
Highway 54 from Hooker to Tyrone was closed.
Both westbound lanes are now open. Eastbound traffic is still closed, and traffic is being diverted.
Wheeler County
Crews responded to a fire in Wheeler County today.
The fire prompted evacuations in the area of County Road R and 19 East to Kelton.
As of 4:00 p.m., officials say the fire has been contained.
Lake Tanglewood
A house fire caused evacuations in Lake Tanglewood today.
Residents on Stockton Road, Turtle Creek Drive, Lake Tanglewood Drive, Lago Vista Street and Overlook Road were asked to evacuate.
Evacuations have been lifted for all residents.
Clovis, New Mexico
The City of Clovis says downed power lines and a grass fire were reported at County Road 11.5 with the fire heading toward the Clovis Regional Airport.
The Clovis Fire Department and Texico Fire Department responded to the call and were able to contain the fire.
There is currently no power at the Clovis Regional Airport, and the afternoon Denver Air Connection flight was canceled as a result.
Randall County
Randall County officials reported a grass fire at FM 2590 between Rockwell Road and Shady Lake Drive.
As of 11:00 a.m., the Randall County Sheriff’s Office says there is no grass fire.
Moore County
The Dumas Fire Department says FM722 is now open for travel after a large grass fire this morning.
