The Jamaican striker was speaking ahead of our Women’s League Cup final against Chelsea at Pride Park on Saturday 15 March.

We’ll go into the 12:15 (UK) kick-off under the guidance of Interim Head Coach Nick Cushing, who returned to the club earlier this week.

Shaw says getting over the line and picking up the trophy is all the squad care about.

“This is the place that we want to be and it’s what we speak about all the time. Pushing our levels and improving each and every day,” she said in an interview for our Matchday Live broadcast ahead of the final.

“It’s here now and we know what we need to do. We just have to try to execute it on the day.

Yui Hasegawa was also interviewed in the video, with the classy Japanese midfielder keen to collect her first silverware in City colours.

“We have a new manager and a different energy. I haven’t got a trophy yet in this club so I’m excited,” she said.
