ATP Miami Day 6 Predictions

Jakub Mensik vs Roman Safiullin

Head-to-head – First Meeting

19-year-old Czech Jakub Mensik has turned people’s attention towards him by taking out the Indian Wells champion in straight sets. He now faces Roman Safiullin who is a fantastic hard court base liner but he hasn’t quite had the year so far he would have hoping for. Expect Mensik to go from strength to strength and rely on his booming serve for free points.

Prediction: Mensik in 2

Tomas Machac vs Reilly Opelka

Head-to-head – Machac 1-0 Opelka

Tomas Machac faces Reilly Opelka in a rematch of their lone previous meeting at the Australian Open this year. Machac did get the better of Opelka in a tight five setter then but circumstances this week are a little different. The courts here are faster and that will suit the tall American. Opelka looked in decent touch in taking out Holger Rune and he has got good rhythm on serve. Expect Machac to put up a fight but with Opelka’s serve firing there’s not much anyone can do.

Prediction: Opelka in 3

Zizou Bergs vs Matteo Berrettini

Head-to-head – First Meeting

Zizou Bergs does boast a decent win loss record in 2025 and the Romanian does look a great player that can go toe to toe with the top players from the baseline. He takes on Matteo Berrettini who is trying to find the form of his previous years and the Italian has shown glimpses of the same. Expect Berrettini to take it to Bergs with his forehand and pepper the Romanian’s backhand as that can be a weakness.

Prediction: Berrettini in 3

Frances Tiafoe vs Arthur Fils

Head-to-head – First Meeting

Frances Tiafoe hasn’t had any momentum this year and his recent results doesn’t seem to instil any confidence in his ability to have a good week here. The American did play a decent match in his second round match here but he faces Arthur Fils, a player who had a good Indian Wells tournament and looks in good nick. Expect a tough match for both players but it just looks like the Frenchman is the player that will take more risks when it’s due.

Prediction: Fils in 3
