ORCHARD PARK – The Buffalo Bills closed out their 2025 draft by making their ninth and final pick, No. 240 in the seventh round, to select Maryland wide receiver Kaden Prather.
Here’s what I think of the pick:
Kaden Prather scouting report
There was a lot of talk about how the Bills needed to add a speed element to their offense, but this probably wasn’t what fans were hoping for. Prather ran a 4.46 in the 40 at his pro day which is pretty good, especially for someone who stands 6-3 and weighs 204 pounds.
How Kaden Prather fits the Bills
Prather will have a shot to find a place on the practice squad and who knows where it goes from there. If he can play on special teams, that would help his cause, but it’s rare when a seventh-round pick makes much of a dent.

Kaden Prather stats
Prather did have some ball production in his college career which was split between West Virginia and Maryland. He totaled 162 catches for 1,966 yards and 12 TDs across 48 total games and 35 starts. Last year he had a big game against USC with nine catches for 111 yards.
What analysts said about Kaden Prather
Dane Brugler of The Athletic said, “Prather has a rangy frame with solid hands and speed, which certainly gives him a chance to stick in the NFL, but the lack of a true distinguishing trait will require him to find a favorable situation.”
