CLEVELAND — Check your fridge!
Nearly 5,000 packages of shredded cheese sold at ALDI stores in four states — Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Connecticut — have been recalled due to the potential presence of foreign material listed as stainless steel fragments.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) says the recall is for Happy Farms by ALDI Colby Jack (a blend of Colby & Monterey Jack finely shredded cheeses), which was sold in 12-ounce stand-up pouches with the following identifying information:

- Item number: 170374
- UPC: 4061463330840
- Best by JUL 13 25 H 2
- Best by JUL 14 25 H
The voluntary recall is listed Class II, which is defined by the FDA as follows:
A situation in which use of or exposure to a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.
