The clip showed Brown, 21, seated with her legs crossed while wearing a denim mini-skirt, denim jacket and knee-high boots. She said something to Pratt, 45, that prompted him to get up and stand directly in front of her.

While the Guardians of the Galaxy star shielded the Stranger Things actress from view, she successfully stood up without exposing herself—because of her super-short skirt—to the audience on the raised stage.

Several days later, a clip of the wardrobe malfunction near-miss circulated widely on social media. Many users lauded Pratt for his kind gesture that helped avoid an awkward moment.

One X user declared, “Chris Pratt is overhated.”

Someone on TikTok shared, “We all need a man like this😫.”

Even a critic was won over by the video, writing, “I hate Chris Pratt. (Don’t ask me why) But that was very kind of him.”

Yet another person pointed out, “I feel like Chris Pratt hate is like hating Nickelback, it just became popular to hate them.”

Still, others blamed Brown for the potential flashing incident.

One TikTok user commented, “She could have worn something more appropriate.”

Another echoed, “Or she could just wear actual clothing😂 he doesn’t need to be praised for ‘protecting’ something showing that she has chosen to wear💀.”

Meanwhile, a different critic snarked, “Or hear me out, maybe dress in less attention seeking clothes 😲.”

The Electric State stars Brown as an orphaned teenager, Michelle, who gets help from a robot to find her younger brother. They team up with a smuggler named Keats (Pratt) on their mission, set in a “retro-futuristic past.”

In addition to Brown and Pratt, the film stars Ke Huy Quan, Jason Alexander, Woody Norman, Giancarlo Esposito and Stanley Tucci. Voice roles include Woody Harrelson, Anthony Mackie, Brian Cox, Jenny Slate, Hank Azaria, Colman Domingo and Alan Tudyk.

The Electric State premieres on Netflix on March 14.
