The Dodgers first night game at home has an extra special feel to it, with championship rings handed out in a ceremony before the game against the Tigers.
On the mound, Yoshinbou Yamamoto makes his second start of the season, his first since winning on opening day against the Cubs in Tokyo, earning the win by allowing only one run in five innings with four strikeouts.
Old friend Jack Flaherty will be among the 2024 Dodgers receiving rings on Friday, but he might be busy during the actual pregame ceremony considering he’ll be warming up to start the game for the Tigers. Flaherty signed a two-year, $35 million with Detroit in February that pays him $25 million this season plus a $10 million player option for 2026.
Flaherty is the first right-handed starting pitcher the Dodgers will face this season after lefties Shota Imanaga, Justin Steele, and Tarik Skubal started against them in the first three games.
The ring ceremony starts at 6:15 p.m., and will be televised by SportsNet LA.
