Fridays have always been freaky—but they’re about to get even freakier.
The trailer for Freakier Friday just dropped, and the nostalgia is hitting hard, teasing an even wilder ride than the 2003 classic Freaky Friday.
In the clip, fans see Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis reunite, instantly reviving their iconic mother-daughter chemistry as they brace for another round of hilarious chaos and unexpected swaps to the soundtrack of Chappell Roan’s “Hot to Go.”
In this sequel, the mother-daughter duo are swapping bodies again – but this time, not with each other. The film follows Tess and Anna years after the original film with Anna having a daughter and a soon-to-be stepdaughter, merging families and the challenges that come with it. After visiting a fortune teller (again), an earthquake happens again similar to the first film, but this time it’s a four-way swap as Anna, her daughter, her step-daughter, and Tess all swap bodies.
The trailer, after the intergenerational swap, includes such gems from Curtis like, “My face looks like a Birkin bag that’s been left out in the sun to rot.”
From a wild car ride, silly makeovers, and a “sexy grand entrance” from Chad Michael Murray, who played Jake in the first film, audiences will be in for a nice trip down memory lane with new quirky moments for the newer generation.
The film is set to be released on August 8. Watch the trailer below
