The Gators are off and running at the NCAA Tournament with a 95-69 win in their Friday opener against No. 16 seed Norfolk State. Florida was too much for the Spartans to handle, as the Gators made 33 trips to the free throw line and bombed 10 three-pointers to Norfolk’s two in the runaway effort. They are big 9.5-point favorites over coach Dan Hurley and his UConn Huskies, who won the 2024 NCAA title and opened in ‘25 with a sound 67-59 win over No. 9 Oklahoma.
