How to Watch: UFL 2025 opening weekend doubleheader on ESPN – ESPN

Mar 27, 2025, 04:47 PM ET

The United Football League is back. The UFL returns with Week 1 action of the 2025 season featuring a doubleheader Sunday on ESPN. The double-dip begins with the Memphis Showboats hosting the Michigan Panthers in the first game, followed by the defending UFL champion Birmingham Stallions heading to the nation’s capital to take on the DC Defenders.

Birmingham coach Skip Holtz led the Stallions to the inaugural UFL championship in 2024 and the USFL titles in 2022 and 2023. Holtz and the Stallions went 26-4 over that span — including a 9-1 mark a year ago — with three different quarterbacks (Alex McGough, J’Mar Smith and last season’s MVP, Adrian Martinez, who is now with the New York Jets).

Can anyone dethrone Birmingham? The race to the 2025 UFL crown begins this weekend.
