Ja Morant Sends Blunt Message to Grizzlies After Steph Curry Embarrassed Them

The Memphis Grizzlies lost their fourth straight game on Tuesday night courtesy of Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors

Curry put on a show as he went off for 52 points on 16-of-31 shooting, 10 rebounds, eight assists, five steals and a block in 37 minutes of action. The former back-to-back MVP also set another 3-point record after knocking down 12 triples against a struggling Grizzlies defense.

After the game, a disappointed Ja Morant spoke to reporters to discuss Memphis’ deflating 134-125 defeat at FedEx Forum. According to the two-time All-Star, it’s tantamount that the Grizzlies are able to “protect home court.”

Morant also sent a blunt message to his team after Curry embarrassed the Grizzlies with his offensive onslaught.

“The main guy on the scout shouldn’t have 52 points,” Morant said plainly.

The 6-foot-2 guard went on to point out that for these types of games, the important factors the Grizzlies must ensure include “locking into the game plan, knowing your personnel (and) being disciplined.”

“They have the greatest shooter in the world. He shouldn’t even attempt that much threes,” he concluded.

Tuesday’s loss saw the Grizzlies concede the No. 5 spot to the Warriors in the Western Conference. To make matters worse, the Minnesota Timberwolves escaped with a thrilling double-overtime victory against the Denver Nuggets on the same night. That has the Wolves tied with Memphis with identical 44-32 records.

Morant and the Grizzlies will need to get back to winning ways as soon as possible if they want to secure a top-six finish and a guaranteed playoff spot in the conference.

They are back in action on Thursday in a road game against the Miami Heat
