Kendrick Lamar is dissing Drake once again on Playboi Carti’s impending album, I Am Music.
At least, that’s what DJ Akademiks said after Carti called him and played him his whole album. “Buckle up y’all, that n**** talk his shit again,” Ak said on his stream.
Akademiks also raved about the project on X, tweeting early Thursday morning, “MOST COMPLETE ALBUM w songs for everybody. all hits no misses. Block me if I’m lying when u hear it tm night.”
He also claimed that Cash Carti “saved 2025.”
I Am Music will also reportedly include a handful of A-list features from Lil Uzi Vert, Justin Bieber, XXXTentacion, and two appearances from Lamar.
Dot kicked off his beef with Drake as a feature on Future and Metro Boomin’s We Don’t Trust You album cut, “Like That”—and as we all know, Kenny and Drizzy’s feud spiraled from there. The song was later nominated for two Grammys, including Best Rap Song.
Carti’s long-awaited offering, I Am Music follows his 2020 album, Whole Lotta Red. While it’s unclear what songs will make the cut, he’s dropped several loosies since 2023 including “Ur the Moon,” “BACKR00MS” with Travis Scott, “EVILJ0RDAN,” and “Ketamine.”
