New York Giants free agency: Giants agree to terms with S Jevon Holland

The New York Giants have agreed to terms with safety Jevon Holland, per Dianna Russini of The Athletic.

Holland, 25, was drafted by the Miami Dolphins out of Oregon in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft (36th overall). He’ll be joining fellow 25-year old free agent DB Paulson Adebo in the Giants’ rebuilt secondary.

The Giants now have a young, highly-talented secondary that also boasts cornerbacks Deonte Banks and Dru Phillips, as well as safety Tyler Nubin.

Holland has good size at 6-foot, 207 pounds, as well as very good athleticism for the position.

He’s started 57 of 60 games since joining the Dolphins and has played both free and strong safety for Miami’s defense. Over that time he’s racked up 301 tackles, 9 tackles for a loss, 10 QB hits, 5.0 sacks, 5 forced fumbles, 5 interceptions, and 25 passes defensed.

The deal for the former second-round pick is reportedly a three-year deal worth $45.3 million, with $30.3 million in guaranteed money.
