Oprah’s 112th Book Club Pick: The Tell by Amy Griffin

Oprah’s March selection is The Tell by Amy Griffin—a memoir about the stories we bury, the truths that shape us and the freedom that comes with facing them.

Amy spent years chasing perfection—excelling as a student athlete, wife, mother and entrepreneur. But beneath the polished exterior, something was missing. “You’re here, but you’re not here. Where are you, Mom?” her daughter once asked her. That simple question cracked open a door she had unknowingly kept shut.

Her search for answers led her through the emerging world of psychedelic therapy, deep into the legal system—and ultimately back to the Texas panhandle, where the story she had spent a lifetime outrunning first began. “I was just floored when I read Amy’s story,” Oprah said. “What she discovered about herself, about her past, made me recognize how powerful the desire to forget is and also how powerful the desire to remember is.”

The Tell is Oprah’s latest selection in her ongoing partnership with Starbucks, with exclusive interviews and curated drink pairings. Watch their full conversation on YouTube or listen on Apple Podcasts.
