ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Severe storms rolled through overnight with multiple tornado warnings and lots of damage across the area.
In Paulding County, powerful winds caused a gas station awning to flip over and onto a convenience store.


The county was under a severe thunderstorm warning from 10:58 p.m. until about 12:36 a.m. and a tornado warning from 11:48 a.m. until 12:02 a.m.

Riverwood Drive at East Paulding Drive, Villa Rica Highway at Winndale Road and Bobo Road at Folsom Extension remain shut down as crews respond to damage in the area.

There are currently 663 Georgia Power customers in Paulding County without power as of 5:44 a.m.

The Paulding County Sheriff took to social media early Sunday morning, saying crews are responding to “significant damage” across the area. The sheriff said they have received reports of minor injuries. The sheriff urged residents to be careful, noting there are several power lines down.
