Red Sox rained out, rescheduled for split doubleheader with Cardinals on Sunday

Saturday’s Red Sox game with the Cardinals at Fenway Park was rained out and rescheduled as part of a split doubleheader on Sunday.

The decision came after more than two hours of waiting following the scheduled 4:10 p.m. first pitch. Richard Fitts had been scheduled to make his second start of the season for the Red Sox, opposed by Andre Pallante for St. Louis.

Tickets for Saturday’s game will be good for admission to the rescheduled contest at 1:35 p.m.; NESN will have the broadcast. Sunday’s regularly scheduled game remains a 7:10 p.m. start, Boston’s first appearance this season on ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball.
