Rock star’s fiancee dies in fall overboard from cruise ship

A woman engaged to rock singer Taime Downe died when she fell overboard from a cruise ship, reports say.

Kimberly Burch was on a 1980s-themed Royal Caribbean cruise ship with Downe, Variety reports. Burch fell “from a room balcony” on Sunday, the first night of the seven-day cruise, Blast reports.

Burch’s sister, Kellie, confirmed the death in a post on social media. TMZ reports Burch’s body has not been found despite search efforts by the Coast Guard and the Royal Bahamas Defense Force. The search has been suspended, reports say.

“It is with broken hearts that we share the sad news that Kimberly Burch has passed away,” the post says. “She was a beloved Daughter, Sister, Sister-in-law and Aunt. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.”

The Los Angeles Times reports the incident occurred near Freeport, Bahamas. Faster Pussycat was part of a lineup that included Squeeze, Adam Ant, Tiffany, Warrant, Dokken and Men at Work, according to the Times.

Burch’s mother, Carnell Burch, tells TMZ that Towne and Burch had a “heated argument” before she fell from the ship. Burch had been drinking during the trip, her mother says.

Faster Pussycat, a hair-metal band, is known for songs such as “Babylon,” “Bathroom Wall” and “House of Pain,” the Times reports.
