Sheppard Air Force Base on lockdown, active shooter possible

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) -Sheppard Air Force Base is on lockdown amid information that an active shooter may be on location. Shots fired are not confirmed by officials.

Officials have stated there is a perimeter search inside the base.

As of 10:15 a.m., drones have been sent out to help search. Officials are working to get a description of the suspect.

News Channel 6 has contacted area schools and during this time:

  • Sheppard Elementary is on lockdown
  • John G Tower Elementary is not on lockdown

No injuries have been reported as of 10:02 a.m. Four shots have been reported, according to officials.
