Sonia Bompastor confirmed Chelsea have no fresh injury concerns ahead of Saturday’s Women’s League Cup final against Manchester City.
The Blues have the chance to lift the first silverware of the season at Pride Park on Saturday lunchtime.
Long-term absentee Sam Kerr is still unavailable and Bompastor confirmed the quartet of Naomi Girma, Maelys Mpome, Guro Reiten and Keira Walsh will also miss the match once more.
But outside of that, Bompastor stated: ‘No, there is no change and we have no new injuries since the Crystal Palace game.
‘So we Keira Walsh, Naomi Girma, Guro Reiten and Maelys Mpome will not be available for the game at the weekend.’
The head coach later added: ‘We have been assessing Naomi and I think we will take it week-by-week with her.
‘Keira is not too far from joining the group. It was just a little bit too short to be ready for this weekend.
‘Maelys is the same as Naomi. We have been assessing her and we are taking it week-by-week.
‘With Guro, it will be a little bit longer. We still have a small chance to see her before the end of the block but I am not 100 per cent.’
There was also a positive update in Bompastor’s pre-match press conference about Mia Fishel.
The American took a place on the substitutes bench for our wins over Crystal Palace and Leicester City during the last eight days, following a long lay-off due to a knee injury.
And Bompastor revealed the 23-year-old stepped up her recovery even further this week.
She said: ‘Mia was in the squad for the last two games with the first team and I just didn’t feel it was a great moment for her to come in. But she had the opportunity to play 45 minutes with the Under-18s and I think it was something really positive for her and for us.
‘I think having these 45 minutes will bring her more confidence and coming into these big games, we will see. She may have opportunity to come in. She feels ready mentally and physically so we will see what happens.’
Chelsea enter a particularly important run of fixtures over the coming weeks, with four matches in a row against Manchester City.
Saturday’s League Cup final will be followed by a Champions League midweek double-header, with a Women’s Super League clash sandwiched in-between.
With five games between now and the end of March, Bompastor explained the importance of rotating her squad in the coming weeks.
Bompastor said: ‘We will look at the four games. We will take them one-by-one but also anticipate and look at all of the block. So, in terms of management, this is why it is important to have depth in the squad.
‘We know it is not possible for all the players to play four 90 minutes so this is where we need to be prepared to rotate the squad and we know how we want to do that in the different games in the different competitions.’
There will be more from Bompastor previewing Saturday’s League Cup final published on the official Chelsea website and app on Friday morning.
