The Tennessee Titans have been pretty active during the NFL’s legal tampering window. They’ve re-signed a few players and agreed to terms with Pittsburgh Steelers left tackle Dan Moore Jr. Their activity continues on Wednesday as they work to finalize a deal with Steelers wide receiver Van Jefferson.
After being drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in 2020, Jefferson went to Atlanta in 2023 before hitting Pittsburgh in 2024. As a Steeler, Jefferson appeared in all 17 games, recording 24 receptions for 276 yards and two touchdowns. He was also responsible for 12 first downs. Plus, he has a Tennessee connection through his dad. Shawn Jefferson, currently the wide receivers coach for the New York Jets, held the same position with the Titans from 2013-2015.
With Nick Westbrook-Ikhine’s departure, the Titans needed to find a replacement. Jefferson could be the guy to fill that hole, and at $2.5 million, it’s budget-friendly.
The Titans’ biggest problem this offseason is figuring out their quarterback situation. Until they do that, it doesn’t matter who’s available to catch the ball. Finding a solution to the quarterback position has to be a top priority, and if they don’t address it during free agency, well, expect them to answer it during the draft.
