The Quarter-Finals of the 2025 Masters 1000 at Indian Wells Unveiled

The quarter-finals draw for the 2025 Masters 1000 at Indian Wells has taken shape as eight players, including Argentine sensation Francisco Cerúndolo, aim to take another step towards claiming the title of the ‘fifth Grand Slam’ this Thursday.

Following a fiercely contested round of 16, the remaining competitors battling for glory at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in California include Tallon Griekspoor, Holger Rune, Ben Shelton, Jack Draper, Arthur Fils, Daniil Medvedev, Francisco Cerúndolo, and Carlos Alcaraz.

Dutch player Griekspoor advanced by defeating Japan’s Yosuke Watanuki with a score of 7-6 (4), 6-1, and now faces Norway’s Rune (12th seed), who triumphed over Greek star Stefanos Tsitsipas (8th seed) in straight sets, also 6-4. Meanwhile, in another intriguing matchup in the upper half of the draw, France’s Fils (20th seed), who edged out American Marcos Giron with a scoreline of 6-2, 2-6, 6-3, will go up against Russian Daniil Medvedev (5th seed), the latter who eliminated fellow American Tommy Paul (10th seed) with a convincing 6-4, 6-0 victory.

His next opponent is British player Draper (13th seed), who pulled off a significant upset by defeating Taylor Fritz (3rd seed) with a score of 7-5, 6-4.

Cerúndolo stands as the lone Argentine among the four who entered the tournament, as Sebastián Báez, Mariano Navone, and Tomás Etcheverry fell early in the competition. The Buenos Aires native advanced past Australia’s Alex De Miñaur with a score of 7-5, 6-3 and is now set to face Alcaraz, who swept aside Bulgaria’s Grigor Dimitrov (14th seed) with a dominant 6-1, 6-1 performance. Alcaraz, the tournament’s top seed, is defending his title after Alexander Zverev, the world number two and the favorite following the absence of Jannik Sinner (suspended for doping), suffered an unexpected defeat to Griekspoor in the second round.
