Timberwolves update Rudy Gobert’s status ahead of matchup with Heat

After a brutal five game stretch in seven nights, the Minnesota Timberwolves will take on the Miami Heat Friday night following a day off on Thursday. The Wolves will be facing a Heat team that has lost eight of their last twelve coming in to the matchup.

On Minnesota’s side of things, they will look to earn their fourth straight victory after wins over the Phoenix Suns, Philadelphia 76ers and Charlotte Hornets. Julius Randle’s return to the lineup predicated their current winning streak, and it is clear that his play is a driving factor in the Timberwolves’ success right now.

Jaden McDaniels’ play has also been massive for Minnesota as of late. Since around the middle of January, he has raised his level of play to that of a legitimate secondary scorer for the Wolves, making everything look easy on the offensive end.

The Timberwolves have been without Rudy Gobert as of late due to his back injury, but that could change on Friday. Gobert’s status has been updated on the official injury report to questionable, and he could be back on the floor against the Heat for the first time since Feb. 12.
