Timothée Chalamet isn’t stressed about keeping up with the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s latest exhibition.

The Oscar-nominated actor was noticeably absent on the Met Gala 2025 red carpet, despite girlfriend Kylie Jenner making a bold fashion statement during fashion’s biggest night in NYC May 5. (See every celebrity on the red carpet here.)

As for why the A Complete Unknown star decided to skip fashion’s biggest night and a date night with The Kardashians star?

Timothée, 29, proved he’d rather be keeping up with the latest sports stats by posting a video watching French analysis on NBA Extra Playoffs to his Instagram Stories while Kylie was getting dressed to the nines for the annual gala. As sports fans know, the Knicks faced off against the Boston Celtics in the NBA Eastern Conference Semifinals Game 1 Monday night.

In another selfie, the actor flashed a smile while hanging with a group of friends.

As for Kylie’s latest head-turning Met Gala look, the 27-year-old wowed in a figure-hugging halter dress from Ferragamo featuring a sheer bodice and long tweed skirt with a thigh-high slit for the menswear-inspired theme of “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.”

The stars packed on the PDA while attending a Los Angeles Lakers game on April 30 during a lovey-dovey date night.

While sitting front row courtside, Kylie and Timothée weren’t shy in front of the cameras as they held hands and snuck in the occasional kiss. The Call Me By Your Name star even rested his hand along Kylie’s leg while she sweetly clung to his arm.

Timothée’s mom Nicole Flender also recently shed the smallest of lights onto her son’s relationship.

“I have to say she’s lovely,” Nicole told Curbed in an interview published April 21. “She’s very nice to me.”
