Netflix released the highly anticipated second part of Beauty in Black last week, delivering eight more episodes packed with thrilling twists and surprises. If you’ve finished Season 1, you’re likely wondering whether a second season is on the way—especially after that shocking cliffhanger with Kimmie and Horace in the finale.
Created by Tyler Perry, Beauty in Black follows two women on different life paths whose worlds become unexpectedly intertwined. Taylor Polidore Williams plays Kimmie, who struggles to make ends meet after being kicked out by her mother, while Crystle Stewart stars as Mallory, a beauty mogul and a member of the wealthy Bellarie family.

Things take a darker turn when Kimmie’s younger sister is kidnapped in Part 1, and she does whatever it takes to save her.
“The ruthless, backstabbing family behind a beauty brand — and an underground trafficking ring — will face a reckoning. Kimmie, the once-unassuming sex worker in their employ, becomes an unstoppable force of vengeance on a mission to rescue her kidnapped sister,” the synopsis reads.
Netflix split the first season of Beauty in Black into two parts with eight episodes each. The first part premiered in October, followed by Part 2 on March 6. Here’s everything to know so far about the second season of the hit Netflix series.
Will There Be A Beauty In Black Season 2 On Netflix?

Netflix has yet to renew Beauty in Black for a second season. However, the show’s creator Tyler Perry seemed to confirm that the drama series will be back for Season 2.
“I’m just gonna sit this right here!! YALL AINT READY FOR SEASON 2 of #BeautyInBlack !!” Perry captioned the post alongside a photo of Charles Malik Whitfield’s Jules and Kimmie. “Thanks for making season one HUGE!”

While the potential Season 2 cast has yet to be confirmed, lead star Williams is likely to return for the next installment. “I know what’s going to happen, so I’m trying hard not to say anything,” she teased to TVLine about the show’s future. “But yes, it’s definitely just the beginning of what she’s about to get into.”
In February 2024, Perry’s creative partnership with Netflix grew to include a multi-year first-look series deal. Beauty in Black was the first series announced under the agreement, and with its successful performance on the platform so far, a second-season renewal seems imminent.

How Does Beauty In Black Season 1, Part 2 End?

At the end of Season 1, Part 1, Kimmie’s younger sister, Sylvie (Bailey Tippen), is kidnapped by club manager Body (Tamera “Tee” Kissen). In an act of revenge, Kimmie runs Body down in a motel parking lot, pinning her between two bumpers.
“As soon as she saw [Sylvie] being brought into this crazy world, that’s when it kicks in for her to finally fight,” Williams told TVLine. “Watching Part 1, I was like, ‘Oh my God, fight back. Please fight back!’”
Season 1, Part 2, concludes with Kimmie and Sylvie’s emotional reunion and an unexpected twist: Bellarie patriarch Horace (Ricco Ross) asks Kimmie to marry him. With his terminal cancer diagnosis, Horace is desperate to prevent his children from inheriting his fortune and company. (A quick Google search by Kimmie’s friend Rain reveals Horace’s net worth is a whopping $376 million.)
By marrying Horace, Kimmie officially becomes a Bellarie, putting her in an extremely dangerous position as she navigates the family’s power struggles. When the Bellarie heirs learn of the marriage, they rush to stop it—but they’re too late. They arrive at Horace’s hospital room just in time to meet their new stepmother and boss, setting the stage for an exciting and dramatic Season 2.
