A special edition of “WWE SmackDown” is taking place in Barcelona, and Cody Rhodes has one more message for John Cena ahead of their first encounter since “Elimination Chamber 2025.”
The blue brand will invade Olimpic Arena for an overseas edition of “Friday Night SmackDown.” Three matches have been announced, and one of them will be contested for championship gold. There will also be a significant in-ring segment.
Rhodes will be a guest on “Miz TV” to speak for the final time before he meets Cena face-to-face on the March 17 episode of “WWE Monday Night Raw.” What will “The American Nightmare” have to say one month before putting the Undisputed WWE Championship at stake against Cena at “WrestleMania 41” in Las Vegas?
The WWE Tag Team Championship will be on the line. DIY will defend against Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins of The Street Profits. As of late, WWE security has had its hands full with constant brawls in the tag team division. Will we get a clean finish in this title match?
For the first time since the Oct. 25, 2024 episode of “WWE SmackDown,” Randy Orton will have a match. He will take on Carmelo Hayes one-on-one. Orton appears to have his sights set on Kevin Owens on the road to “WrestleMania 41,” but Hayes wants to spoil the return party.
Last week, B-Fab took exception to the 2025 women’s Royal Rumble winner Charlotte Flair badmouthing the “Friday Night SmackDown” locker room. One month before her WWE Women’s Championship match against Tiffany Stratton, Charlotte Flair goes one-on-one with B-Fab.
“WWE SmackDown” airs on USA Network at 8 p.m. ET via tape delay. Live spoilers will be added here throughout the show beginning at 3 p.m. ET.
‘WWE SmackDown’ Results (March 14, 2025)
WWE United States Champion LA Knight got the show started. He made his entrance in his wrestling gear. Fans in Barcelona were fired up, and Knight joked that they’re too quiet.
Knight said he may be the United States titleholder, but he’s worldwide. His promo was interrupted by Jimmy Uso. He admitted to Knight that he’s desperate because his road to “WrestleMania” is closing. Uso made a challenge to Knight for his gold.
Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, and Tama Tonga then made their way out. Sikoa said Fatu deserves the next United States title shot. He called Uso a failure, but Uso fired back by mentioning his loss to Roman Reigns.
Tonga hit a hanging DDT on Jimmy Uso, and the numbers game caught up to Knight. Braun Strowman ran down the ramp to make the save. Uso nailed superkicks before Strowman clotheslined Fatu out of the ring.
“WWE SmackDown” General Manager Nick Aldis then announced a six-man tag team match. It’ll be Knight, Uso, and Strowman against Sikoa, Fatu, and Tonga.
LA Knight, Jimmy Uso, and Braun Strowman vs. Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, and Tama Tonga
Uso and Sikoa exchanged strikes at the center of the ring. Uso chopped his brother in the corner and knocked both Tonga and Fatu off the ring apron. Sikoa gained momentum by landing Spinning Solo.
Sikoa connected with a running hip attack. Uso was on the receiving end of some double-team moves from his opponents before he made the tag to Knight. The WWE United States Champion planted Fatu with a jumping neckbreaker. Knight hit a DDT on Fatu, who kicked out at one.
Fatu was caught in Knight’s jumping elbow from the top rope. Knight was looking for BFT, but Fatu shoved him near the referee. Tonga snuck in a cheap shot on Knight.
Sikoa charged in for a hip attack, but Knight got out of the way. He landed a backdrop and tagged Strowman in. Strowman took out Tonga with a shoulder tackle before knocking Fatu off the apron. Strowman Express connected on Sikoa, Fatu, and Tonga.
Knight hit a baseball slide on Sikoa. Uso then sent Fatu over the announce table with a suicide dive. In the ring, Strowman hit a running powerslam on Tonga for the win.
Winners: Braun Strowman, LA Knight, and Jimmy Uso
After the match, Sikoa hit the Samoan Spike on Strowman. Knight and Sikoa brawled in the crowd. Fatu hit multiple Mighty Moonsaults on Strowman. He then charged at Strowman and sent him crashing through the barricade.
Jade Cargill Interviewed by Cathy Kelley
Kelley spoke to Cargill in the empty arena before the show began. Cargill said Naomi is pathetic for trying to play the victim after attacking her in the parking lot. Cargill said all she can recall is being hit from behind and thrown onto a parked car. She said she was able to get a glance at Naomi running away.
Cargill was interrupted by Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez. She said if she wasn’t out of action, Morgan and Rodriguez wouldn’t have won the tag team gold. Cargill said she’ll meet Morgan next week.
Charlotte Flair vs. B-Fab
Flair dropped B-Fab to the mat with a shoulder block. Flair landed a series of chops to the chest. B-Fab delivered a clothesline, followed by a slam. Flair rolled out of the ring going into a commercial break.
B-Fab was outmatched on the ground by “The Queen.” Flair went for Figure Eight, but she was shoved into the middle turnbuckle. Flair ate a series of forearms. B-Fab rammed Flair into the turnbuckle and hit a suplex. She nailed Flair with a big boot for a near fall.
Flair rebounded with a superkick. She then landed Natural Selection. B-Fab was forced to tap out to Figure Eight.
Winner: Charlotte Flair
Flair refused to release the hold after the match. Tiffany Stratton made her way out, and she brawled with Flair before WWE security intervened. Stratton leaped off the ring steps and nailed Flair with a forearm. Flair then dove on Stratton off the announce table.
Stratton got on the top rope with security trying to escort Flair out of the building. Stratton hit a Swanton Bomb on everyone.
Drew McIntyre Blames Damian Priest for Misfortune
A vignette for Drew McIntyre played. He said Priest has taken championship gold from him twice. McIntyre wants to put Priest down for good so that he doesn’t rob him of a title again.
Tiffany Stratton Gets Last Laugh
At the start of a “Miz TV” segment, Stratton and Flair continued their brawl at the entrance ramp. Stratton hit another Swanton Bomb, this time off the video tron.
Cody Rhodes Addresses John Cena Before Encounter
Cody Rhodes joined “Miz TV,” but his entrance was interrupted by The Miz. Rhodes nailed The Miz with Cross Rhodes. “The American Nightmare” grabbed the mic and warned John Cena that he will be in attendance for the March 17 episode of “WWE Raw.”
Damian Priest and Shinsuke Nakamura Have Backstage Run-in
Nick Aldis told Shinsuke Nakamura that he’s lucky he wasn’t suspended for misting a referee last week. Damian Priest walked in looking for Drew McIntyre, who has left the building. A match between Priest and Nakamura has been booked.

Nakamura delivered kicks to Priest in the corner. Priest caught Nakamura’s leg and landed a series of right hands. The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion then sent Nakamura out of the ring with a clothesline before another ad break.
Nakamura leaped off the middle rope, but Priest caught him in a flatliner. Priest flattened Nakamura with Falcon Arrow. He then sent Nakamura flying onto the announce table.
Priest went for a lariat, but Nakamura countered into an armbar. Priest got out of the submission. He ducked a kick and hit the rolling lariat. Priest went for South of Heaven, but Drew McIntyre showed up and distracted him.
Nakamura went for Kinshasa, but he ran into South of Heaven. McIntyre then attacked Priest for the DQ finish.
Winner via DQ: Damian Priest
After the match, McIntyre gouged the eyes of Priest. Nakamura then hit Kinshasa on Priest before walking off. McIntyre took out Priest by hitting him in the head with the ring steps. He was going to walk off, but he returned to the ring and hit Claymore before stomping on Priest’s head.
DIY Interrupted Before Tag Team Title Defense
DIY was interviewed by Cathy Kelley before defending their tag team titles against The Street Profits. The team took credit for the “WWE SmackDown” tag team division heating up. Motor City Machine Guns interrupted the interview. They said there’s unfinished business between the four of them.
Chelsea Green Might Have New Competition
Chelsea Green was interviewed backstage. She was with Piper Niven and Alba Fyre. Green said she’s put her body in harm’s way, which is why she added Fyre to her “administration.” Zelina Vega walked in and vowed to capture the WWE Women’s United States Championship. Vega will meet Niven in singles action next week.
Randy Orton vs. Carmelo Hayes
Hayes shoved Orton and ate a European uppercut for his troubles. Orton landed nine punches in the corner and sent Hayes into the ring post. He then connected with a backdrop onto the announce table.
Hayes found some offense and targeted the leg of “The Viper.” He then sunk in a headlock, but Orton got out of it. Hayes was hit with a series of clotheslines. Orton planted his opponent with a powerslam. Hayes slipped out of the draping DDT, but Orton countered his springboard crossbody with a powerslam.
Orton went for the RKO, but Hayes bailed. Hayes went high-risk but missed Nothing But Net. Hayes then connected with a springboard DDT for a two-count. Hayes went up the top turnbuckle again, but Orton cut him off. “The Viper” landed a superplex.
Hayes shoved Orton off during an RKO attempt. Orton was hit with a Codebreaker, but he hit the RKO out of nowhere for the victory.
Winner: Randy Orton
After the match, Orton lifted Hayes up and looked to give him some praise for his effort. Hayes shoved Orton in the face and ate another RKO. Orton was going to punt Hayes in the head, but Kevin Owens showed up and pulled him out of the way.
Owens sent Orton’s back to the ring post and ran away through the crowd.
Jacob Fatu Vows to Take WWE United States Title
Jacob Fatu was backstage with Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga. They told him to “run the play” and become WWE United States Champion. Fatu bragged about putting Braun Strowman through the barricade earlier.
Gunther Welcomes Surprising Opponent
Gunther was in the ring, and he said he’d rather be in Madrid than Barcelona. He said Jey Uso is wasting his time entertaining fans. He claimed Uso’s matches have no substance. Gunther then introduced Axiom, who is one half of the NXT Tag Team Champions.
Gunther vs. Axiom
Axiom locked in an armbar from the ring apron. He took the fight to Gunther, but he was on the receiving end of a chop to the chest. Gunther then kicked his opponent in the body. He tried pulling the mask off Axiom but ate a dragon screw instead.
Gunther looked for a powerbomb off the middle rope, but Axiom reversed with a hurricanrana. Eventually, the WWE World Heavyweight Champion scored a lariat and two more powerbombs for the win.
Winner: Gunther
Gunther choked out Axiom when the match was over. He left the ring after WWE officials broke things up.
Paul Heyman Makes Roman Reigns Announcement
“The Wiseman” was out and said today is “Roman Reigns Day.” He’s aware that his close friend CM Punk doesn’t exactly celebrate “Roman Reigns Day.” Heyman announced that “The Tribal Chief” will be in attendance for the March 21 episode of “WWE SmackDown.”
Gunther Shares Words for Jimmy Uso
Gunther asked Jimmy Uso to tell Jey to reconsider the “WrestleMania 41” title match. Jimmy said Jey will take the World Heavyweight Championship from Gunther in Las Vegas.
WWE Tag Team Championship Match: DIY (c) vs. The Street Profits
Johnny Gargano went for a DDT over the top rope, but Angelo Dawkins caught him and slammed him down. Dawkins tagged Montez Ford, who hit a crossbody on Gargano. Ford kicked Ciampa, but Gargano shoved him off the ring apron before a commercial break.
Ciampa initially stopped Ford from making a tag, but he was shoved off and Dawkins got the tag. Ciampa was taken down with a leaping back elbow. Dawkins planted Ciampa with a modified suplex for a near fall. Pretty Deadly was spectating the match backstage.
Ford went for a 450 splash, but Ciampa got his knees up. DIY hit Shatter Machine on Ford, but Dawkins broke up the pin. Gargano charged in, but he ate a high knee from Ford.
Dawkins sent Ciampa flying over the barricade. Gargano landed a suicide dive on Dawkins. The Street Profits couldn’t get their blockbuster special on Gargano due to interference from Ciampa.
Ford sent Ciampa outside the ring. The Street Profits then hit the blockbuster on Gargano, but Ciampa recovered to break up the pin. DIY hit a Fairytale Ending combo on Dawkins, who somehow kicked out.
DIY went for Meet in the Middle, but Gargano accidentally hit Ciampa. Ford landed a frog splash on Gargano to secure tag gold for his team to end the show.
