Elon Musk has been fiddling with the cables again it seems, as X, formerly known as Twitter, is suffering problems.
After waiting a while for the app/site to load, users across the world were greeted with a message repeatedly telling them to refresh the page, something that has become a lot more commonplace in recent times.
The website DownDetector, which reports on website malfunctions across the world, reported a huge spike around 6am ET with users rushing to lodge their complaints about the social media site.
Why is Twitter not working?
We simply don’t know, although these things don’t normally take too long. Users will make it known on other social media sites and it’s all but certain that the boffins that remain in X Towers will be pulling their hair out to work out which wires need plugging back into the mains.
The fabulously named DownForEveryoneOrJustMe.com noted that “The last outage detected for Twitter was on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 with a duration of about 43 minutes.
